Alacer Corporation’s Standards on Slavery and Human Trafficking in the Supply Chain
Consistent with our commitment to excellence and corporate social responsibility, Alacer supports the eradication of human trafficking and slavery in supply chains around the world. We have therefore taken the following actions to identify and eliminate human trafficking and slavery from our supply chains:
- Alacer is in the process of conducting a verification of our supply chain to evaluate and address risks of human trafficking and slavery. Alacer has a discrete number of direct suppliers and is conducting this assessment internally.
- Alacer is implementing a monitoring program to evaluate supplier compliance with company standards for human trafficking and slavery. As many of our products are sourced from countries which present a low risk of slavery and trafficking, we will not be auditing suppliers located in those countries. Rather, we will focus our auditing efforts on suppliers we have determined, based on our supply chain assessment, present a high risk of utilizing forced labor.
- Alacer has obtained certifications from the suppliers who provide over 70% of the materials, by volume, which are incorporated into Alacer’s products. These certifications state that the suppliers comply with the laws on slavery and trafficking in the country or countries in which they do business. We are currently seeking to obtain certifications from all of our remaining direct suppliers.
- Alacer has developed robust company standards with regard to human trafficking and slavery in our supply chain, including internal accountability standards and procedures for employees, contractors and suppliers who fail to meet our company standards. The company standards have been distributed to appropriate personnel and our suppliers. As part of these company standards, Alacer reserves the right to terminate a purchasing contract if the supplier violates applicable laws on human trafficking and slavery.
- Alacer is conducting training of all company management and employees with supply chain responsibilities on human trafficking and slavery and how to identify and mitigate risks within our company supply chain. This training will be incorporated into our orientation program for all new hires.
